On 4 June 2026 General Director of JSC CMP Lev Tretyakov took part in the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2026), held at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg.

The official opening of the forum was the key event of 4 June, while the day’s business programme included more than 135 events ranging from macroeconomic panels to industry-specific sessions on rare metals, energy, technology and international cooperation. Of particular significance was the thematic session “Rare and Strategic: Sovereignty and International Cooperation in Rare Earth and Critical Minerals”, where participants discussed the global competition for technological sovereignty in the field of critical raw materials.

During the forum, the Head of JSC CMP held a number of business meetings and took part in panel discussions. The central focus of the negotiations was the development of promising non-ferrous and rare metal mining projects in Myanmar and Cuba, both of which had a strong presence at the forum.

Participation in SPIEF 2026 enabled JSC CMP to outline concrete steps for advancing promising mining projects outside Russia.
